Clover Appliques
1 skein Cotton Crochet Thread size 3
1 set of double point needles
(Pictured above please note: left was done with size 4 Right with size 6)
Tapestry needle
Make two balls of yarn.
Cast on with 1 skein 3 stitches and three with the second ball of yarn.
Row 1: *K1f&b,k1,k1f&b* repeat to second set of stitches( 5 stitches ea)
Row 2: Purl
Row 3: * K1,m1,k3,m1,k1* repeat to second set of stitches. (7 stitches ea).
Row 4: Join the two sets by: P6,p2tog,p6. ( 13 stitches)
Note: cut non working thread and weave in the ends.
Row 5:K1,m1,k11,m1,k1 ( 15 stitches)
Row 6: purl
Row 7:K6,sl2togkwise,k1,p2sso,k6. (13 stitches )
Row 8: Purl
Row 9:K5,sl2togkwise,k1,p2sso,k5 ( 11 stitches )
Row 10: Purl
Row 11: Ssk,k2,sl2kwise,k2,p2sso,k2,k2tog. ( 7 stitches)
Row 12:purl
Row 13:Ssk,sl2togkwise,k1,p2sso,k2tog ( 3 stitches )
Row 14: purl
Row 15 P3tog. Place remaining stitch on a stitch holder.
Repeat rows 1-15 for two more " leaves" of the clover for 3 leaf clover.
Knit the stitch on the needle , then the two sections from holder, making sure they are right side up. Knit I-cord for desired length, bind off.
Note: If needed Starch clover.

1 skein knitting worsted yarn
1 set of size 7 ( US ) single point needles
1 clover applique
3 100% cotton balls
Sewing thread matching to cloth
Scissors
Tapestry needle
Cast on:
Small Cloth: 29 stitches
Large Cloth :39 stitches
Knit 1" of garter stitch, begin pattern.
Pattern:
Row 1: K4,p1,*k1,p1* end with K4.
Row 2: K all stitches
Knit till 1" from desired length, knit 1" garter stitch. Bind off and weave in ends.
Place clover where you want it sewn. Sew down one leaf, from underneath, leaving a 1" pocket. Stuff cotton ball in pocket, use a needle to spread it out. Repeat this process to the other two leaves. Tack down the stem.

Note: Sample is incorrect- borders are now even with the above directions.
1 skein knitting worsted yarn ( you can use wool, acrylic or cotton )
1 set of size 7( US ) single point needles
1 set of size 6 (US ) double point needles
Tapestry needle
Knit three leaves.
Cast on: 3 stitches with one skein of yarn, 3 stitches with second skein of yarn
Row 1: (rs) K1,(kf&b) x2 on first and second set of stitches. 5 stitches on each set.
Row 2 and all even rows : Purl
Row 3,5&7: K1,m1,knit to last stitch, m1,k1.
Row 9: K1,m1,k9,k2tog,k9,m1,k1 Note: k2tog joins the first and second set of stitches, cut off the second skein.
Row11: Knit
Row13-29: K1,ssk,knit to the last 3 stitches, k2,k1.
Knit this row till 5 stitches ( knit 26 rows ) 5 stitches remain on needle.
Row 31: K1,sl1,k2tog,psso,k1.
Row 33: Sl,k2tog,psso, last stitch onto a stitch holder.
Repeat these 33 rows for the other two petals of the clover.
Knit the stitch on the needle , then the two sections from holder, making sure they are right side up. Knit I-cord for desired length, bind off.
arrange the leaves and tack them together for stability, underneath.
Note: Starch clover if needed.
I knit the two at the same time, putting 4 skeins in separate zip lock bags to keep them from tangling together.
